INTRODUCTION

This chapter uses the dataset in the previous chapter and shows how you can treat datasets as databases. In particular some of the functions such as sorting, filtering and ordering are built into Excel together with the ability to produce pivot or summary tables. These summarise data on two axes and produce powerful reports. The model for this chapter is called MFM3_24_Data_Analysis.

The data contains the database of sales by company and salesperson together with disposal details (see Figure 24.1).
