Converting Physical Servers
Most organizations that install Hyper-V will have an existing physical server network. It is likely that many of these servers (some PC operating systems are supported in physical to virtual [P2V] conversions as well) have been identified as machines that should be converted into virtual machines. Virtual Machine Manager provides Microsoft's supported mechanism for converting physical servers into virtual machines. This physical to virtual conversion is often referred to as a P2V conversion or just P2V.
