It is widely accepted that a new management paradigm is needed to meet the challenges of rapidly changing market conditions and technological advances. Executives, professional associations, and academics promote new thinking about how to successfully transform business strategy into effective operations. Many books offer principles-based guidance on this subject. But few, if any, provide a systematic, step-by-step approach to closing the gap between planning and implementation. This void in management education has existed for a long time.
