Maintenance and Monitoring

As a SharePoint administrator, your job is never done, particularly once the server is set up and functioning. You have servers to nurture and protect, databases to manage, and websites to control. Lists are being built, data is being processed, and web pages are being accessed. SharePoint was meant to grow, and grow it will. Now is the time to create a baseline of how your SharePoint services work optimally and prepare for possible emergencies. It's beneficial to recognize what your server looks like on a good day, when all is working well, so you can anticipate when things are going to start lagging before the users start to complain.
