When I was writing this book, Microsoft was reporting more than 1,200 server systems certified to run Windows Server 2008 x64. Of that number, over 95 percent are certified to run Hyper-V. This points out that, even though most OEM servers support Hyper-V, you need to be sure that the system you plan to use for running Hyper-V is capable. To make this easy, Microsoft keeps a web page (www.windowsservercatalog.com) of all the hardware and software that has been certified for use with Windows Server.
