11.4. Installing Applications
The applications that are provided to remote RDS users from an RD Session Host need to be installed in a very particular manner. If applications are not installed as described, they will perform poorly, or possibly not at all. On an RD Session Host, you cannot always simply install an application from standard media as you have always done. If your application is packaged in a Windows Installer package, as many are, Windows Server 2008 R2 will automatically install that application in RD install mode.
