8.1. Sequencing Concepts
Sequencing a basic application requires little or no knowledge of Windows internals. Some enterprises actually have application owners or application subject matter experts do the application configuration during the sequencing phase. That said, the most successful sequencing engineers possess the following skills:
Knowledge of the Windows Registry, .ini files, and user profiles
Fluency in command prompt use and working with environmental variables
Experience troubleshooting application failures and anomalies using tools such as Microsoft/Sysinternal Procmon
Batch file creation and VB scripting
