12.4. Using the Web to Access RDS

So far, we've configured our RDS environment to provide full RD Session Host desktops as well as individual programs through RemoteApp. We've also explored a few methods of deploying access to those resources for our users. But while these deployment methods for access aren't terribly difficult, they may not meet your needs. For example, both the RDP and MSI deployment methods require something to be installed on the client machine, and you may not always have access to do that, as in the case of an offshore contractor. To address this, Microsoft introduced TS Web Access in Windows Server 2008. Microsoft has improved and enhanced it in Windows Server 2008 R2, and the feature is now called RD Web Access.
