6. Procurement Execution Strategies
6.1 Introduction
Project managers use strategies all throughout the project lifecycle from project selection, planning and execution of project activities, and even with closing and terminating the project. Strategies are also used during the execution of procurements because this process is one of the most important that is conducted throughout the project lifecycle. The project manager must work closely with those involved in the procurement of resources, materials and equipment, and facilities required for project work activities, as this directly affects all three elements of the triple constraint: cost/resources, schedule/time, and scope/quality.
