Using the SQL Server Agent Service
Keeping everything running smoothly is a goal of every database administrator. It's important to know that backups and other automated tasks are running properly and as scheduled. It's also important to be alerted when things aren't running smoothly. SQL Server Agent is a service that allows us to accomplish both of these tasks and more. Whether you're administering a single server or hundreds of servers, SQL Server Agent will enable you to schedule and automate various tasks across those servers, and be notified when problematic situations occur.
