8.1. Preparing Configuration Manager 2007 for OSD
Configuration Manager 2007 needs to be configured for deploying an operating system image. The first step in preparing for OSD is to install the User State Migration Tool (USMT) version 3.0 or higher. USMT is used to back up and restore user state information; it captures desktop settings, application settings, user accounts, and user files.
