15.2. Using Troubleshooting Tools
The most important troubleshooting tools are log files and status messages.
15.2.1. Log Files
For the majority of troubleshooting, administrators will focus on the log (.log) files on either the client or the server, and in some cases both. The client stores the log files in the folder C:\Windows\System32\ccm\logs, while the site server stores the log files in the folder <installation Directory>\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs. Tables 15.3-15.5 list the site server log files, management point log files, and client log files, respectively.
|Site Server Log File||Purpose|
|Ccm||Records client Configuration Manager tasks|
|Cidm||Records changes to the client settings by the Client Install ...|
