Appendix B: Introduction to the Agile Practice Guide
As mentioned in the introduction to Chapter 4 of this book, in 2017 PMI published the PMBOK® Guide 6th Edition, which added references to the Agile mindset and Agile approaches in the body of the document to the previous version.
To better understand these additions, and to supplement the knowledge of project managers who knew little about agility, the PMBOK® Guide 6th Edition was delivered with a complementary book: The Agile Practice Guide. It helps bridge the gap between traditional and Agile approaches and is the result of collaboration between the Project Management Institute and the Agile Alliance.
