We have been looking at different methods of trawling for requirements. You will use some of these methods a lot, most noticeably workshops, scenarios, and process models. There are also other techniques that are equally useful but that do not need an entire chapter to themselves.
The task of discovering requirements needs a certain amount of flexibility. If one technique is not working for you and your stakeholders, then switch to another. Use several at the same time. Additionally, some approaches are more appropriate to different circumstances. We advise you to have a well-stocked toolbox so that no matter what the target, you always have the appropriate tool.
