People make changes based on feeling dissatisfied with their present situation. Allow them to talk about their thirst, and how it feels first, and then offer them your solution, if it's appropriate to do so.
Ask the questions that will uncover whether any dissatisfaction exists. If it does, find out whether they are prepared to do something about it, before even thinking about presenting your solution.
