2.4. Designing a VMM Infrastructure
VMM architecture breaks down into three categories: the VMM server, the VMM infrastructure, and the VMM client. Each category accounts for multiple components that should be taken into account as part of your VMM deployment plan. Although this section will not cover the actual installation of the components, it will provide guidance for deployment.
VMM server
This is the core engine that handles all jobs, controls object permissions, orchestrates Operations Manager bidirectional event flow, abstracts multiple hypervisor APIs, and hosts user connects through Administrator Console or Self-Service Web Portal.
