5.3. Managing Hyper-V Hosts and Virtual Machines
VMM is strictly focused on managing the virtualization aspects of a Hyper-V host. With VMM, for example, you cannot deploy Windows Server 2008 R2 to a physical computer with no operating system (commonly referred to as bare-metal deployment). However, enabling the Hyper-V role is a function of deploying the VMM host agent to a computer with Windows Server 2008 R2.
