All administrators have a set of tools and scripts in their toolbox that are useful for troubleshooting. Although troubleshooting is not a typical day-to-day task, it does require developing a set of critical skills (and some specialized skills, depending on the product supported). The skills you develop and the tools you use to troubleshoot complement each other very well and improve your productivity.
