6.11. Content Types
You know how to use an existing document library, how to create a new document library, how to add a custom template to a library so all new documents created there can take advantage of it, and you know how to send copies of documents from one library to another for archiving purposes. Now it's time to work with another useful feature in the list and library repertoire– content types. Content types are basically templates of standard list or library items. Item properties include the fields of that item, the template that might be associated with it, even what kind of workflow works with that item.
