7.5. Even More Sites

SharePoint can make a custom site for almost every need. The default sites are only the beginning. Thanks to such tools as Site Definitions, Solutions, Features, and Templates almost any kind of site can exist in SharePoint. You can install prebuilt site templates or new site definitions; if an existing site definition or template doesn't do quite what you want, odds are that there's one out there somewhere that will. In fact, there are so many SharePoint possibilities that you might want to let your users make their own site collections. Here's a closer look at two ways to extend SharePoint into new waters.
