11.3. Topology

The topology you choose can also have a dramatic effect on how resilient your network will be in case of failure. As you will see in the following sections, some topologies do a better job than others of recovering from the day-to-day problems that can happen on any network. Changing your topology may not be an option. If not, this section will at least point out some of the common problems you may encounter and give you an idea of possible contingency plans.
