Abstract
This chapter examines the challenges surrounding material selection of a “green” office building and uses the Meridian building in Wellington, New Zealand, as a case study to illustrate the situations involved. The chapter examines the moral, ethical, and practical issues that arise in the search for the materials of a sustainable architecture. The chapter includes extended discussion over the selection process for timber louvres.
