1.1 The purpose of the book
One of the subjects of cognitive psychology is the study of learning and memory which serves a critical function in allowing organisms to alter their behavior in the face of changing environments. Learning ability is necessary to ensure the survival of the individual and the entire species for both animals and humans. Studying processes of learning and memory is important for understanding the functioning of the brain.
