This is where Web accessibility guidelines and standards come in. Throughout this book, you will find references to both Section 508 and WCAG 1.0. These guidelines and standards aren’t just “rules” that you have to follow in order to avoid getting into trouble. They can offer valuable insight into some ways of addressing the problems we’ve been discussing, in order to make these online schedules more usable and accessible, not just for people with disabilities, but for everyone, without the trouble and expense of creating and maintaining two (or more) versions of the same site.
