Providing an Accessible Plug-In

Providing access to accessible software for reading PDF documents is straightforward. There are two ways to do it; we suggest offering both options on your Web site so your users can choose what’s best for them.

  1. Provide a link to the download page for the version of Acrobat Reader 5 that includes Search and Accessibility features; instructions are at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/alternate.html.

  2. Provide a link to Adobe’s online conversion tools for people who do not have or cannot install the Acrobat 5 Reader (for example, people with older equipment that may not support Acrobat 5 or people who aren’t using their own computers and can’t download software).
