I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Reducing and Exploding
In version 7, two more plug-ins have been added: PolyReduction and a new explosion plug-in. I'll introduce you briefly to both in this example.
PolyReduction
3D Scan
As a starting object, I'll use a little mascot that I've scanned in using a 3D scanner. Here I'd like to thank Baulmann Produkt Entwicklung and especially Klaus Baulmann, who provided me with the data. His firm offers, among other things, 3D scan and print services. Using this technique, you can present modeled objects as “real” objects that you can pick up in your hand. You'll find more information about this at www.digital-forms.de.
