Chapter 2. Particle Effects

Particle dynamics are at the heart of creating effects animations. They bring a chaotic sense of spontaneity to computer-generated images that breathes life into a scene. They're also a lot of fun to play with. This chapter dives right in and assumes that you have some working knowledge of particle systems in Maya. Some expressions and even a tiny bit of MEL will be used in these scenes. Mostly we are concerned with how we can use particles in different ways to make difficult effects assignments a little easier.
