6.2. Print Servers

Print servers are used in many environments to accept print jobs and send them to print devices. Any computer can act as a print server simply by sharing a printer. However, in the context of this book, a print server will primarily be a server running Windows Server 2008.

When running a Windows Server 2008 server as a print server, you must first add the Print Services role through Server Manager. Figure 6.15 shows the Print Management console that is available after installing the Print Services role on a server.
