6.2. Configuring Authentication
As you recall from Chapter 2, "Installing and Deploying SharePoint 2007," when you installed SharePoint Server 2007, you set up a default authentication method based on Windows authentication (Kerberos or NTLM). Since then, you probably haven't given much thought to your authentication selection, how it works, or whether you should further manage SharePoint authentication. While Windows-based authentication is a pretty straightforward affair, configuring ASP.NET forms and SSO authentication requires a few more skills, particularly in the planning stage.
