15.3. Working with Web Content Management
Web content management (WCM) is the collection of SharePoint features that allows user members in the SharePoint site collection to modify and manage how information is published on SharePoint websites. This function was previously relegated to the Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 (MCMS), but in the interests of expanding the scope of usability and end user collaboration, the features were integrated into Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007.
WCM is most commonly applied to some type of web publishing function such as creating and applying a custom master page, managing layout pages, and publishing a site in multiple languages.
