Chapter 9. Configuring Microsoft SharePoint Foundation

SharePoint Foundation 2010 is the latest version of the application previously named Windows SharePoint Services. Like Windows SharePoint Services, SharePoint Foundation is a free download from the Microsoft website and provides a core set of features with which users can share, modify, and discuss content. SharePoint Foundation provides features for centrally creating common types of information, including announcements, tasks, and reminders. Application developers can also use SharePoint Foundation as a platform for their own web-based programs.
