Configuring a File Transfer Protocol Server
FTP is used to provide file transfers, usually across the Internet. Permissions can be set to allow all users or specific users to have permissions to files. With all of the advancements made in IIS 7, there was very little time for Microsoft to improve the already feature-sparse FTP services that IIS 6.0 contained before releasing Windows Server 2008. If you are familiar with FTP services in IIS 6.0, you should have no problem working with built-in FTP services for IIS 7.5.
