Control panels, position controllers, motor drives and pneumatic or hydraulic valves are some of the components which may be found between the operator and the machine. Few of these parts have a direct bearing on the design of the machine itself. This chapter will discuss the control components which directly interface with stage machines: sensors, limit and disconnect boxes, and connectors. Discussion of control consoles and networks, motor drives and fluid power control valves is beyond the scope of this work.
