Objectives

The objectives of this chapter are that, after studying it, the reader should be able to:

  • Describe the basic structure of a microprocessor system.
  • Describe the architecture of common microprocessors and how they can be incorporated in microprocessor systems.
  • Describe the basic structure of microcontrollers and how their registers can be set up to carry out tasks.
  • Explain how programs can be developed using flow charts and pseudocode.
