All media designs will require some method of control. This control may require an operator or it may be completely automated. In this chapter we will discuss a wide variety of methods which will be essential tools as the designs become more complicated. These tools have been adopted from the broadcast industry as well as installed audio visual systems. Many of these tools have been incorporated into modern media servers, though the concepts remain the same. As with other technology we have discussed, sometimes there are different methods to implement the same concept.
