CHAPTER 17 Synchronizing Frames
The reality of using multiple media servers on a production is commonplace today. However, this situation has a few obstacles to overcome. In particular, synchronizing content to play simultaneously on several servers without losing sync (a condition known as drifting) can be a very big headache unless you use a server that allows you to sync frames between servers. Simply starting a clip and letting it roll on all servers is not going to be acceptable during a show because eventually the servers will end up showing different frames at the same time. So let’s take a look at a few of the options for syncing frames between servers.
