Introduction

I’ve bought myself every Kindle that Amazon has sold over the years, and the Kindle Fire is no exception (Figure 1). It is, however unlike any Kindle that has come before it. Right off the bat there is one clear difference: the screen. The Kindle Fire sports a vibrant, full-color, 7-inch display capable of multitouch gestures. With a fancy screen like that, it would be a crime to limit the Kindle Fire to being a simple e-reader. Good thing this isn’t the case; unlike its predecessors, this Kindle isn’t devoted to one task.
