Synonym-antonym and reinforce-void patterns
Abstract
In this chapter, we introduce two families of analytic patterns. The first is synonym-antonym and is shown to be an analytic analogue to the Hegelian dialectic. Its broad applicability to any analytic discrimination problem is highlighted. The second pattern family is that of reinforce-void, which is shown to provide an interesting balance between consensus-driven approaches and rule-based approaches. Methods in which to drive understanding from using these two patterns simultaneously are provided. The applicability of the patterns to other multiphase counterbalanced approaches is given.
