4.1 Chapter introduction
In Chapter 3, we examined the multifaceted presentational features of trauma metaphors. While the study provided detailed accounts of how trauma victims organize and present their metaphorical ideas in quantitatively systematic ways, the focus was limited to contextual characteristics of linguistic variables. In Chapters 4 and 5, we will shift our focus from the interrelationships among metaphor variables to the interface between metaphor use and psychopathological experiences.
