Abstract

The emergence of metaverses, or 3D virtual worlds, has given rise to a new standard for social networks and online communities. One such example is Facebook’s recent rebranding as Metaverse, which aims to provide users with immersive and personalized experiences through the use of various technologies. However, with the increasing popularity of these virtual environments comes the need to ensure the protection of users’ digital data and content. Blockchain technology offers a promising solution in this regard, as it is decentralized, immutable, and transparent. These characteristics make it well-suited for use in the metaverse, where it can help to secure user information and facilitate transactions within the virtual world. In this research, we aim to delve into the technical aspects of using blockchain in the metaverse; we will examine the application of blockchain technology in augmenting reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR). We will also delve into the possibilities for future innovation and advancement in the integration of blockchain for the metaverse, as well as potential avenues for further investigation in this field.
