Crystal Plasticity Theory
Abstract
Crystal plasticity (CP) theory has attracted significant attention because of its ability to relate the plastic deformation of micro parts to their microstructures, and has been extensively applied in the research of deformation behavior in microforming process. In this chapter, two currently popular CP theories including rate dependent and rate independent theories which have extensive applications in microforming are presented. Due to the complexity of the classical crystal constitutive equations, a method for simplifying the rate dependent CP theory is introduced in order to reduce calculation process.
