Abstract

As the deformation process is scaled down to microscale, the characteristics of an individual grain involved in the deformed region may play a significant role on the mechanical behavior of materials. As a consequence, process knowledge of conventional forming could not be simply transferred to microscale because classical theories will not be applicable due to size effects.
