Simulation of Micro Deep Drawing
Abstract
This chapter presents the simulation of Micro deep drawing (MDD). MDD is a promising technology for mass production of complex 3D micro metal products. A Voronoi blank model is developed for the microscale simulation. Dividing samples into small areas according to observed microstructures including grains and grain boundaries and assigning individual properties to each small area are a possible access to microforming simulation considering material size effects. Real microstructures and Voronoi structures have been applied in microstructural models through image-based modeling method.
