Simulation of Micro Compression
Abstract
In this chapter, a material constitutive model based on Hall–Petch relationship, composite model, surface layer model, and grain heterogeneity is developed. Finite element simulation associated with Voronoi tessellation is carried out to simulate the micro compression process with consideration of temperature. Physical experiments are conducted to compare the simulated results with experimental ones, and the scatter of grain heterogeneity is analyzed in terms of flow stress and surface asperity of the deformed parts. It is found that there is a good agreement between experimental and numerical simulation results. The flow stress decreases with increasing the grain size when the specimen size is ...
