Practice of Micro Deep Drawing
Abstract
This chapter presents the practice of micro deep drawing (MDD). The influences of grain size, foil thickness, punch size, and initial gap on the punch force and displacement, friction and product’s quality are studied by MDD device. Stainless steel (SUS) 304 sheets with different heat treatments are chosen for the MDD experiments and a micro tensile test system is developed to obtain mechanical properties of the sheets including size effects. For the machining system, the difficulties with positioning and transporting of raw material in the drawing process arise due to small sizes.
