Exporting Solutions
Solutions can be exported in two different package types:
Unmanaged
Managed
Unmanaged is the option that enables developers to maintain backups of the customizations; they can be modified when applying them to any other environment. Note that when removing unmanaged solutions, the new customizations are not removed; to remove customizations, you must remove them manually by going to the default solution.
