JScript and the REST Endpoint API        Chapter 4

The REST endpoint API is a service that allows for the querying, updating, and creating of data – all within JScript callable from your CRM forms. In previous versions of CRM, FetchXML could be used to query data, but there were huge limitations on what could be done around updating and creating records. A lot of code had to be written, and the complexities associated with it often resulted in the requirement that a plugin be written. Now, FetchXML is only used for SSRS reporting, while the updating and creating of records is a simple task. This chapter outlines how to work with JScript and web resources, and how to write queries, updates, and creates using the REST endpoint service.
