Using Microsoft Office Web Apps
Windows Live now offers its users one more little piece of the “cloud”—access to a suite of Office Web Apps that live online and that you use online: Excel Web App, Word Web App, PowerPoint Web App, and OneNote Web App. The only requirement is a free Windows Live ID. The Web Apps allow you to view, share, and even edit most Excel, Word, and PowerPoint documents (with exceptions) on the Web, even on computers that do not have any Office applications installed. The Web Apps are, of course, partially a response to similar Web-based services that have been out there for quite awhile. With the added competition, we can probably look forward to more and more functionality being added by Microsoft as well as its competitors. ...
