The ability to summarize a large data set is important. The three tools used most often to summarize data in Microsoft Excel are histograms, descriptive statistics, and PivotTables. In this chapter, I discuss the use of histograms for summarizing data. I cover descriptive statistics in Chapter 42, and PivotTables in Chapter 43.
