Document Properties
The Properties dialog (Figures 2 and 4) enables you to store information about a document. This information can be viewed by anyone who opens the document.
Tips
The Properties dialog is organized into tabs for storing information. I cover the Summary and Statistics tabs here; explore the other tabs on your own.
Information in the Properties dialog is also used by Find File, Excel's internal file searching feature. A discussion of Find File is beyond the scope of this book, however, you can explore it on your own by clicking the Find File button in Excel's Open dialog (Figure 3).
To open the Properties dialog
1. | Open the document for which you want to view or edit properties. |
2. | Choose File > Properties (Figure 1).
